(EMSL) conduziu recentemente uma investiga\u00e7\u00e3o abrangente em toda a sua rede sobre os elevados n\u00edveis de cromo comumente encontrados em membranas de \u00e9ster de celulose mista (MCE) utilizadas para a coleta de part\u00edculas met\u00e1licas no ar. Embora a presen\u00e7a de tra\u00e7os de cromo em membranas de MCE seja conhecida h\u00e1 muitos anos, a EMSL deseja que seus clientes compreendam o impacto potencial sobre seus resultados anal\u00edticos.<\/p><p>\u00c9 importante distinguir a origem do cromo entre contamina\u00e7\u00e3o processual (por exemplo, uma amostra em branco de campo) e aquela inerente ao pr\u00f3prio material da membrana antes do uso em campo (amostra em branco de meio filtrante). Embora a EMSL n\u00e3o se responsabilize por nenhuma das duas origens, incentivamos os clientes a enviar amostras em branco juntamente com suas amostras de teste como forma de rastrear e documentar esses n\u00edveis potenciais de cromo e outros metais.<\/p><p>A an\u00e1lise foi realizada utilizando um sistema de plasma acoplado indutivamente (ICP) com detec\u00e7\u00e3o por espectrometria de emiss\u00e3o \u00f3ptica (OES) e espectrometria de massa (MS). Todas as membranas MCE avaliadas tinham 37 mm de di\u00e2metro e poros de 0,8 \u00b5m (microgramas).
